What's on at the Kings Arms
There is a great sense of community in Portesham and with its central location and large garden, the Kings Arms provides an ideal venue for getting together locally. Or if you are just visiting, Pat and Phil invite you to come and join in the fun!
Here at the Kings Arms we hold regular weekly events, providing a great opportunity to get together locally. At lunchtimes we offer our OAP £10 Special, Tuesday is Curry Night, Thursday is Surf 'n' Turf Sizzler Night and to round off the week, you can enjoy a great Sunday Roast at the pub.
The Kings Arms theme nights are centred around speciality food, such as Oriental, Indian or Italian. But you can also try out your singing voice on our karaoke, or put on your dancing shoes for the disco. A real social night for all to enjoy!
There is nothing better than live music and the Kings Arms is a great venue. So come along and enjoy a drink, something to eat and good music.
A natural stream runs right through the centre of the garden at the Kings Arms making it a very pretty spot to enjoy our lovely Summer afternoons and evenings. The garden is also very large, so an ideal spot for Summer outdoor events.
We hope you have all enjoyed 2011 at the Kings Arms. We've had a great year here at the pub with lots of live music nights and lots of laughs! So thank you all for joining us and helping that to happen.
We have lots of new events planned for 2012, which we hope you will enjoy just as much. As we have said before the pub belongs to you, so if there are any ideas for events and evenings you would like to see us hold here then do tell us.

Royal Wedding street party
29th April 2011
We waved our flags and watched the Royal couple get wed on our big screens, while supping Royal Wedding cocktails - Charismatic Kate and Passionate Prince were specially created for the big day and named by our regulars!
There was also a Street Party in our huge garden with Wacky Races for kids and adults, lots of prizes for the winners, food from our barbecue and to complete the party atmosphere our now famous Kings Arms karaoke and disco.

Halloween Party
Saturday 29th October
The pub was decorated to the theme, the chefs cooked up some gory delights, whilst Dave and the bar team served a gruesome punch. We had a great Halloween night with Duff Paddy and lots of support from the local coven even Dracula and his vampires attended. There were lots of other local spooks who managed to vacate their graves for the evening. The local gardener even ran himself over with his lawn mower just so he wouldn't be left out!!! The pub looked fantastic. Thanks to the staff for the never ending cobwebs and Phil for the gadgets.

Allo Allo Night
Friday 18th November
Listen very carefully I shall say this only once...
Rene, Herr Flick and the gang provided the scene for an evening of all things French. We tried to find the Madonna with the big boobies, enjoyed a themed menu, whilst Alan on the accordion and fancy dress helped us get in the mood!

New Year's Eve 2011
We dressed to impress and rang in the New Year at the pub with our ticket only party. With Bucks Fizz on arrival, live music from Duff Paddy and dinner buffet everyone joined in the fun!
